Come and join Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and friends at In the Night Garden Live in their hit show Igglepiggle’s Busy Day - where Igglepiggle looks for his friends and follows their funny sounds until he finds them all.
You’ll see all your favourite characters beautifully brought to life with full-size costumes, magical puppets, and enchanting music. And be amazed as the world’s only real-life flying Pinky Ponk takes off and flies above you!
Now in its 16th year, In the Night Garden Live is one of the UK’s favourite family events. Over 1.2 million people have seen it so far and it gets 4.8 out of 5 stars based on 14,456 parents’ reviews.
There are other shows for young children, but as The Independent wrote, “there’s nothing quite like In the Night Garden Live.”

The show was absolutely fantastic. The way the show is put together is so professional as are the performers onstage. I liked the detail that when Makka Pakka was on stage on his own he was big but then when all the characters are on stage together he’s small again as per the show. My daughter also absolutely rinsed me at the gift shop which is rather conveniently placed at the entrance / exit to the Hippodrome.

Very well performed!
Our boy is 3 and has a development delay, he was happy standing to watch, spent most of his time clapping and whooping.
Lots of kids shouting, dancing and laughing, no need was felt to keep them quiet or make them conform, it was a lovely family atmosphere and great for the kids to be kids whilst seeing their favourite characters in real life.

We want to bring the show to as many locations as possible, but it can be quite a complex process trying to sort out the logistics and availability at different venues. We'll pass the feedback on to the producers of the show. Please also get in touch with your local venue to let them know you'd love to see In the Night Garden Live visit there in the future!

Q: Hi, hoping to book tickets for my two children, my son has autism so if he becomes overwhelmed, either me or his dad may need to take him out of the theatre & bring him back when he calms down. Will the performance be relaxed enough that we can pop in and out of the theatre if required?

A: Thank you for your questions about In The Night Garden Live. The show is very poplar with children and young adults with autism and has been designed with this in mind to make every performance autism friendly.
The show features soft lighting (the house lights are dimmed but not off completely), no sudden noises and there is no expectation for the audience to stay in their seats for the duration of the performance meaning audience members are welcome to move around in the auditorium. You are also welcome to leave and come back in as much as you like.

Q: Why are there not any performances in the south east?
We watched at the Marlowe in Canterbury previously but hasn’t been there for the past few years?!
Dartford is closest but 2 hrs drive.
So disappointing as the rest of the country seems to be covered.

The shows are generally considered as autism-friendly as there are house lights up for the duration and no loud noises or flashing lights so hopefully it will be a relaxing experience. In terms of where to sit in the theatre, it's completely up to you. I would suggest an aisle seat encase you want to nip out quickly. Q: Will there be meet and greets with the characters at the shows? Are they separate tickets?

A: Hi! There won't be any purchasable tickets available for the meet and greet, but in previous years there have been competitions that have run throughout the tour where bookers can win the chance to meet a character. It's entirely up to the producers if this would happen or not this year, and nothing has been confirmed yet, but if you keep an eye on our social media pages/website any updates will be posted there. (If you have subscribed to our mailing list then you will also be notified via email.)
